About Richard Bank
RICHARD D. BANK received his BA
from Temple University and his Juris
Doctor from University of
Pennsylvania Law School. He is the
author of ten books (See Books
Section). Most recently he published
The Bus Ride, preceded by The Tree of
Sorrow, which along with I Am Terezin
and Feig, comprise his Holocaust
Trilogy. Richard has published more than one hundred
articles, short stories, essays, poetry, Op-Ed’s, and book
reviews for a wide variety of publications including The
Philadelphia Inquirer, Moment Magazine, Midstream,
Philadelphia Jewish Exponent, Northeast Corridor, Writer’s
Digest, Voices International, Rathallah Review and
Philadelphia Forum.
Richard has conducted workshops at writers’
conferences and other venues on such topics as getting
published, legal issues facing writers, and writing
nonfiction, creative nonfiction and memoirs. Over the
years, he has spoken to numerous groups and
organizations about subjects of Jewish interest, legal
concerns, and contemporary issues. He has taught writing
and publishing courses at the University of Pennsylvania,
Temple University, Montgomery County Community
College and in the Graduate Publishing and MFA Programs
at Rosemont College.
Richard is a past president of the Philadelphia
Writers’ Conference. A lifelong resident of the Philadelphia
area, he lives in Upper Dublin with his wife, Francine.
